Argosy can
provide basalt fiber/fabric, carbon
fiber/fabric, glass fiber/fabric,
and high silica materials amongst
many others used as reinforcements
in composite structures and in
thermal protection applications.
Basalt fiber/fabrics are made of
basalt yarn, which are woven into
plain or satin weave fabrics. Our
basalt can also be provided in
unidirectional and roving forms.
We can also supply basalts in
various surface finishes to meet the
needs of specific applications.
Basalt fiber's advantage is
its non-combustibility, high
temperature resistance, thermal
insulation, high strength, and its
lack of thermal shrinkage.
Carbon fiber/fabric is light in
weight and high in strength and can
be used in various industries such
as aircraft, automotive, industrial,
and recreational.
We can supply carbon in
woven, tow, and unidirectional
forms.
Argosy offers both X-glass fabrics,
made of silica yarn, and E-glass
fabrics.
E-glass fabric has many
unique properties which provide
design opportunities for the
improvement of existing products and
development of new products.
E-glass is high tensile
strength, high thermal endurance,
low moisture absorption and low
cost.
High silica materials are used in
high temperature thermal insulation
and thermal protection products
throughout various industries. High
silica materials are used as a
replacement for asbestos and are
used mainly in the refining,
electrical, aerospace, metallurgy,
shipbuilding and automotive
industries. Argosy offers high
silica fiber in different friction
products including high silica
needle felt and high silica mesh for
casting fibers.
We also offer high silica in
woven forms for specific
applications.
Argosy
technicians, design engineers and
technical representatives welcome
the opportunity to combine their
experience and knowledge of these
unique properties to provide the
superior products required by the
industry.
