The Advanced Chinese Mobile Progressive Deformable Barrier (AC-MPDB) is designed for the Moderate Overlap Frontal Impact Test in C-IASI 2026.
The AC-MPDB consists of six aluminum honeycomb blocks covered by cladding and a cover plate. The honeycomb block consists of 3 areas: block A, block B, and block C. Block B is further divided into three layers from top to bottom (block B1, block B2, and block B3), representing a progressive stiffness honeycomb. Blocks A and C are constant-stiffness honeycomb blocks.
Block A Overall Dimensions
1200 mm x 790 mm x 50 mm
Block B Overall Dimensions
B1-1 (1200x300x400 mm), B1-2 (1200x300x300 mm), B2 (1200x230x700 mm), and B3 (1200x260x700 mm)
Block C Overall Dimensions
794 mm x 790 mm x 50 mm
Honeycomb Material
3003 aluminum for all blocks
Backplate
AlMg2 to AlMg3 series aluminum (preferably 5754-0), 3.0 mm ± 0.2 mm thickness, 50-67HBS hardness
Contact Plate
1050A H24 aluminum, 1.5 mm ± 0.1 mm thickness
Sealing Plate / Bending Part
5754 H22 aluminum, 0.8 mm ± 0.1 mm thickness
Intermediate Plates (1, 2, 3)
5754 H111 aluminum, 0.5 mm ± 0.06 mm thickness
Adhesive
Two-component polyurethane adhesive, applied with a maximum film thickness of 0.5 mm
Rivets
6 mm diameter aluminum or steel tubular rivets
Designed in accordance with the C-IASI 2026 (TD 012 Technical Requirements for AC-MPDB Calibration).
The static crush strength for every honeycomb block conforms to the specific corridors mandated by the test protocol.
Manufactured under an ISO 9001:2015 certified Quality Management System to consistently meet product specifications and customer requirements.
Based on Aluminum Honeycomb technology, the CAERI Side Impact Moving Deformable Barrier (AC-MDB) is used in the C-IASI 2023 side impact crashworthiness evaluations.
