In 1988, Argosy was established as a trading company specializing in aerospace chemicals and Asian supplier to the former Soviet bloc countries via countertrade.
1989-1992 Argosy supports multiple Asian-based aerospace programs with specialty chemicals, including 3M aerospace materials.
1992 Argosy establishes exclusive distributor agreements with Dexter Aerospace Coatings (today’s Akzo Nobel) Morton Chemicals, Culver City Composites (today’s Solvay).
1993, Argosy established multiple LTAs with Asian aerospace customers for composite and specialty materials.
1998 Cytec (today’s Solvay) purchases Culver City Composites, and Argosy is appointed Cytec’s exclusive distributor for Asia-Pacific, excluding Japan.
2000 Argosy International Inc., Taiwan Branch, and Argosy International Beijing Representative Office were established respectively to promote the Argosy materials product lines.
2003 Argosy International Inc., Korea Branch was established to promote the sales of composites and related aerospace materials.
2003-2004 Argosy establishes two additional China-based entities – Argosy Shanghai Aerospace Material Ltd. to mix and blend aerospace coatings under license from Akzo Nobel Aerospace Coatings and Argosy XAC Composite Materials Co., Ltd., a JV manufacturer of honeycomb cores and related products.
2007 Argosy Xi'an Composite Materials Ltd was established in Xian, China, providing VMI services for composites and consumables in western China.
2008 Argosy establishes a liaison office in Bangalore, India to facilitate sales of aerospace composite materials
In 2015, Argosy established a presence in Singapore to manage Southeast Asian sales and marketing. Argosy also registers a representative office in Malaysia.
2015 Argosy, in conjunction, with ACC initiates aramid honeycomb core sales and aerospace qualifications.
2017 Golden Argosy LLC was established as a holding company of the global Argosy Group assets.
2018 Argosy concludes the sale of its aerospace composite materials business to Solvay and pivots to focus on honeycomb core and related products.
Argosy enters the crash test barrier business with the vertical integration of our aluminum honeycomb into crash test barriers and the global qualification of all major barrier systems.
2020 Argosy and Formosa Plastics Corporation enter into a partnership to sell and qualify FPC carbon fibers in aerospace and green energy.
Argosy’s Huntsville facility was designed to support our stated mission -- be a TOP TIER GLOBAL PROVIDER OF HONEYCOMB CORE.
2022 Argosy Japan Aerospace Materials Co., Ltd. was established in Nagoya, Japan to market and distribute honeycomb products, automotive crash test barriers and aerospace composite consumable materials.
Argosy enters exclusive distribution partnership with Aerovac Composites One for the supply of Vacuum Bagging and Process Materials throughout certain Asian markets.
2023 Argosy Advanced Materials LLC (dba Argosy International) is established further consolidating all the non-China assets of Argosy under the Golden Argosy LLC holding company.
2024 Argosy initiates distribution and sales of Hexcel’s Polyspeed® cured laminates.
Argosy divested the AkzoNobel Coatings business to sharpen its strategic focus on core growth areas, including advanced honeycomb materials.
