Previously President, Argosy International, 20+ years with the company
Argosy International announced a significant leadership transition as part of its long-term strategic succession plan. After 38 years of service as Chief Executive Officer, Paul Marks will transfer the CEO role to Ryan Flugel, the company’s current President, effective on May 1, 2026. Marks will continue to serve as
Executive Chair.
This transition has been in thoughtful development for more than five years. The original timeline was adjusted during the COVID-19 period, when continuity and stability in leadership were essential to supporting Argosy’s global operations and supply chains. The appointment of Joe Baumann to the newly combined role of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer was executed in alignment with this succession plan, ensuring strengthened operational and financial leadership as Argosy enters its next phase.
“For nearly four decades, it has been my privilege to lead Argosy as it evolved from an entrepreneurial venture into a global partner in advanced materials, aerospace composites, and specialized logistics. The balance between entrepreneurial agility and enterprise-level discipline has fueled our growth. As Argosy continues its journey, in an increasingly complex business environment, the need for structured leadership and continuously evolving robust business systems is increasingly important. Ryan is exceptionally prepared to guide and lead Argosy forward.”
Paul Marks - Outgoing CEO, Now Executive Chair
Flugel has served Argosy for more than 20 years in roles of increasing responsibility. Throughout his tenure, he has earned the trust of customers, partners, and employees through his disciplined leadership style, operational rigor, and deep understanding of Argosy’s global business.
“Ryan brings a highly focused approach to strategy, clarity in execution, and a firm grasp of the operational, cultural, and market dynamics that drive our success. I have complete confidence in his ability to lead Argosy into its next chapter.”
Paul Marks - On Ryan Flugel's Appointment
“It is an honor to step into the role of CEO and build on the strong foundation Paul and our teams have established over the past four decades. Argosy’s success has always been rooted in customer-focused solutions, operational excellence, and a commitment to continuous improvement. As we look ahead, we will continue investing in our global capabilities, digital transformation, and our people to ensure we deliver even greater value to our partners worldwide.”
Ryan Flugel - Incoming CEO
Assuming the CEO role, Flugel will lead the continued advancement of Argosy’s global capabilities, on-going investments in systems and digital transformation, and its commitment to operational excellence across all business units.
Marks will continue to be engaged and support the company in his capacity as Founder and Executive Chair, focusing on Investment and M&A activities, business development and ensuring a smooth and orderly transition.
“This transition represents both continuity and renewal. Argosy will benefit from fresh leadership while preserving the values, relationships, and legacy that have defined our success.”
